The Girl King paints a portratit of the brilliant, extravagant Kristina of Sweden, crowned queen from the age of six, who fights the conservative forces that re against her ideas to modernize Sweden and who have no tolerance for her awakening sexuality.
Directed by Mika Kaurismaki, and stars Malin Buska as Queen Kristina, Sarah Gadon as Countess Ebba Sparre and Michael Nyqvist as Chancellor Axel von Oxenstierna.
