The Philippines boasts of having one of the most diverse array of agricultural selection – having a myriad of strains from rice, crops, beans, and fruits harvested from the different provinces and regions of the country. To celebrate and promote the richness of Philippine agriculture, the Department of Agriculture (DA) together with Central Square and SSI Group, Inc. have created the Philippine Harvest at Central Square.
The three-day food fair is an avenue where you can buy, bring home and appreciate organic, artisanal, natural and indigenous products. Past fairs have not only promoted the richness of Philippine agriculture but have also presented a wide range of exhibitors highlighting Philippine spirits, Filipino agripreneurs who participated in the 2017 Madrid Fusion Manila, as well as the best of French food to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Philippines-France diplomatic ties and interchange.
For its 7th edition, Philippine Harvest at Central Square will once again bring local farm produce straight to your tables this March 16 to 18, 2018 at Central Square, Bonifacio High Street Central.

The Department of Agriculture (DA) and SSI Group, Inc., together with the Embassy of Spain in Manila, will showcase the extraordinary, world-famous flavors of Spain, side by side the finest Filipino farm products and ingredients, in a gathering that celebrates good food and pays homage to the people that produce them.
Dubbed Philippine Harvest meets Sabores de España, the three-day gastronomic market and festival will feature time-honored Spanish staples such as olive oil, sausages, jamón ibérico (ham), and wines from 15 exhibitors assembled by the Embassy of Spain in Manila.
The Department of Agriculture has also brought together 25 exhibitors to highlight the richness and diversity of the country’s organic, artisanal, natural, and indigenous agricultural products. These include organic heirloom rice, artisanal chocolates, coffee, and fresh fruits and vegetables. Some of the products will also be available for tasting and product sampling during the trade and marketing event.

“We invite the support of the public to events such as this as it highlights the richness of Philippine agriculture and innovations in the Filipino food industry,” said DA Secretary Emmanuel Piñol. “And this particular partnership with the Spanish embassy is an opportunity to showcase the best food products and ingredients from Spain, whose influence on Filipino culture and food has been very profound.”
In a previous statement, the DA chief said Philippine Harvest plays an important role in the development of export-oriented agribusiness, which is “a key requirement in the Philippine government’s bid to modernize the Filipino agriculture sector.”
“The 7th edition of the Philippine Harvest is another opportunity to appreciate the finest flavors and ingredients from the Philippines and Spain, as well as recognize the men and women behind them,” said Mr. Anthony Huang, President of SSI Group Inc. “As we continue to provide lifestyle offerings to our consumers, we at SSI are proud to partner with the Department of Agriculture and the Embassy of Spain in Manila to offer an exciting gastronomic experience with an explosion of flavors from the Philippines and Spain.”
In partnership with SSI Group, Inc., Philippine Harvest is part of the DA’s regular marketing activities that promote locally-grown farm and fishery products in the domestic market, effectively assisting small- and medium-scale agri-entrepreneurs nationwide in terms of direct market linkage.
Within the DA, the Office of the Undersecretary for Agribusiness and Marketing and Regional Engagement, led by Undersecretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat, spearheads Philippine Harvest meets Sabores de España.
