Merit Medal Recipients for HIPA’s Twelfth Season Announced

20  photographers recognised for their submissions in ‘Diversity’ season



The Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) has announced its ‘Merit Medal’ recipients for the recently concluded Twelfth Season, ‘Diversity’. Twenty photographers have been recognised for their submissions across the season’s categories. They will each be awarded the HIPA Merit Medal along with a copy of HIPA’s annual book.



Commenting on this announcement, the Secretary General of HIPA, Ali Bin Thalith said, “These medals serve as a powerful incentive for photographers, inspiring them to strive for excellence. The recipients have presented their finest work, leading the Award’s Board of Trustees to award them this well-deserved praise as a form of recognition. This encourages a culture of competitiveness in the submissions. We are delighted to see that five Arab photographers have been honoured; highlighting the constant growth and commitment of Arab photographers within the world of photography and its evolving techniques.”



Ali Bin Thalith concluded, “We hope this recognition serve as a source of inspiration to our Merit Medal recipients to continue nurturing their talents and skills.  With the potential to be a future HIPA Award winner, we extend our congratulations to all recipients of the Twelfth Season Merit Medals.”



Out of the twenty recipients, four belonged to the ‘Diversity’ category, five were in the ‘Portfolio’ category, and four went to the ‘General – Colour’ category. Additionally, two were recognized in the ‘General – Black & White’ category and five were in the ‘Digital Art’ category. The HIPA Merit Medals were designed by Emirati artist and member of the HIPA Board of Trustees, Mattar Bin Lahej.
