Jeanette Kamphuis recently launched her second solo exhibit in the Philippines dubbed “Love for Nature.” Some of the Swedish artist’s paintings were displayed at the ninth floor meeting and banquet rooms of Marco Polo Ortigas Manila last October.
Kamphuis has been to 96 countries and stayed in the US for more than a decade before moving to the Philippines. She first came here in 2011 to help out her sick brother who is living in the country. As fate would have it, she had a flu that would not go away, prompting her to stay longer. She started painting at home, and when people came to visit, they suggested she meet some local artists. The rest, as they say, is history. From then on, she participated in 26 group exhibits and launched her solo exhibit.
