New World Makati Hotel Partners with Italian Luxury Lifestyle Brand La Bottega for Sustainable Bathroom Amenities Line

As part of its global sustainability program along with all Rosewood Hotels and Resorts around the world, New World Makati Hotel has partnered with La Bottega, an Italian luxury lifestyle brand, to supply the former’s guest bathroom amenities under one of its product lines – Malin+Goetz. The amenity line will be available this month in the 580-room hotel’s guest
bathrooms, consisting of its sustainably-produced shampoo, hair conditioner, hand wash, body wash, and lotion.

“We are thrilled to have the prestigious La Bottega brand’s Malin+Goetz as the new guest bathroom amenity line for New World Makati Hotel,” said General Manager Nantha Kumar.

“This partnership takes us a step further towards adapting long-term sustainable practices in line with our owning company Rosewood Hotel Group’s global sustainability program.”

Along with other La Bottega brands, Malin+Goetz’s packaging uses recycled materials such as post-consumer plastic and are completely recyclable materials, such as polyethylene. In addition, they use alternative materials for some of their solutions, such as ceramic, aluminum, and glass in their commitment to reduce the amount of plastic waste in the world by not introducing new plastics into the environment and promoting alternative materials.

The brand’s laboratory technicians, chemists and quality control staff are committed to constantly evolve the production process, to minimize waste and emissions, and formulations are free of silicones, parabens, MIT (Methylisothiazolinone) and are all cruelty-free. Certain products manufactured by the brand are gluten and mineral oil-free, as well as have vegan and natural formulations that are blended with retail proprietary essential oils.

Prior to the partnership, New World Makati Hotel has taken significant steps to implement sustainable standards in the property. At the height of the pandemic last year, it launched its waste management program which segregates hotel waste into renewable and recyclable streams, with a goal of achieving “zero waste” or at least 90% waste management efficiency by 2025.

Compostable food packaging made of sugarcane bagasse is used for takeaway and delivery orders at its restaurants, while reusing organic food waste into plant fertilizer through regular composting for the poolside garden. In addition, all of the used coffee grounds are repurposed and repackaged for guests to bring home and use as body scrub, fertilizer or insect repellent. More programs are in the pipeline to further reduce single-use plastics as well as other sustainable initiatives. To know more about the Rosewood Sustainability Program, visit
