Makati Shangri-La, Manila celebrates a week of life in France

See French culture come to life before your eyes as Makati Shangri-La, Manila presents “La Vie En France” a life in France from June 22 to July 2, 2017. “La Vie En France” promises a rich and authentic experience of French food, wine, arts and culture.
“In line with the 70th anniversary of French-Filipino friendship, we want to offer our guests an explosion of French culture that everyone can access right in the heart of Makati City” said Alain Borgers, Makati Shangri-La, Manila’s General Manager and Shangri-La Philippines Hotels and Resorts Area Manager. “We also hope that through this effort, we can strengthen the friendship between France and the Philippines.”

Thrill your palates with classic French pastries as the hotel welcomes world-renowned French pastry chef, Yves Michoux. He is known for his signature pastries such as eclairs, macaroons, savarin, Paris brest and many more. Guests will get a chance to learn how to create Parisian pastries as Chef Michoux conducts patisserie workshops.
“I am very excited to have the guests in the Philippines get a taste of French pastries during this festival,” said Chef Michoux.
La Brasserie at Sage Bespoke Grill
Experience a taste of France at La Brasserie at Sage Bespoke Grill. In France, a brasserie is a type of restaurant with a relaxed setting and serves French a la carte classics all day. Highlights of La Brasserie are: oysters, foie grass, mussels and turbot fish to name a few.
French High Tea at the Lobby Lounge
Indulge in a Parisian afternoon tea experience at the Lobby Lounge as we offer French inspired high tea with Janat tea. This Parisian tea is known for its unique flavoring of exotic aromas and spices. Take a sip of France with rates at Php 1,850 per afternoon set. Daily, diners can sample authentic French pastries by Chef Michoux with our Patisserie Trolley.

Cheese Buffet at the Lobby Lounge
Cheese lovers will particularly be delighted by the Fromagerie at Lobby Lounge. Guests will be exposed to a variety of 25 artisinal cheese, from Morbier to Tome de Savoie, and pair it with a range of different French wines. This Fromagerie will provide a unique experience as diners will be educated on cheese pairings. Satisfy your palate from June 26 until July 2, 6 p.m. – 11 p.m.. Rate starts at Php 1,300 ++ for unlimited cheese and bread served with a glass of wine.

Be a wine connoisseur during the festival as Sage Bespoke Grill and Sage Bar offer an array of French wines for dinner.

Art Exhibit by Pancho Francois Quilici
Makati Shangri-La will be home to the artwork of painter Pancho Francois Quilici, an artist of Venezuelan origin who lives and works in Paris, and is active in both Europe and Latin America. His artwork is inspired by geometric elements, especially with everything related to circle. Guests can view his exhibit at mezzanine.
Live Entertainment with Dinner
For the festival’s piece de resistance, Makati Shangri-La will be showing a feast for the eyes with a live performance entitled “I Love France”, a dinner show at Lobby Lounge. This French inspired show includes performances by Floyd Tena, Jam Mayoralgo & Allison Gonzales, the Philippine Ballet Theater and a Romack fashion show. Witness this exciting event on July 1, doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are sold at Php 2,888++ per person, inclusive of a special 3 course dinner menu.
