Rustan’s continues the festivities following the group’s 65th Anniversary celebration with a gala night featuring masterpieces by renowned designer for the red-carpet, Tadashi Shoji. Highlighting pieces crafted specifically for Rustan’s, Tadashi Shoji elights the fashion elite of Manila during the showcase of his latest fashion collection at the Sapphire Ball.
Esteemed guests, members of the press, and partners were invited by the Tantoco family to gather in The Peninsula Manila to celebrate the successful run of Rustan’s 65th anniversary campaign. Rustan Commercial Corporation President Donnie Tantoco, as well as SSI Group Inc.’s President Anton Huang, thanked all the guests for joining and taking part in the celebration of such an important milestone for the whole Rustan Group of Companies. As the finale and main highlight of the evening, Tadashi’s Fall collection left the guests in awe with a 44-pc 1970s Jimi Hendrix-inspired collection.
For Tadashi’s Fall collection, the designer mesmerizes with his expert manipulation of textures– flowing velvet dresses with luxurious coats, meticulous embroidery painstakingly crafted by hand, dramatic lace dresses with sheer panels, and much more. Each piece is a delight to the senses. During the Sapphire Ball, fashion icons and enthusiasts were seen watching from the audience. To name a few are reporter and TV personality Marie Lozano, PR Maven and model Apples Aberin, fashion photographer and model Jo Ann Bitagcol, and writer and blogger Grace Barbers Baja; not to mention style icons Mikaela Martinez, Xandra Rocha, Keri Zamora, Tootsie Angara, as well as beauty queens Gloria Diaz and Margie Moran.
Tadashi’s visit drew excitement to the loyal patrons of Rustan’s, the designer’s long-standing partner and faithful supporter n the Philippines. “I would like to congratulate Rustan’s on its 65th anniversary, and it is my honor and pleasure to take part in the grand celebrations. Rustan’s as a lifestyle leader and purveyor of style has helped me immensely. They paved the way for me to share my designs with the Southeast Asian market, particularly the Filipinos,” says Shoji.
