Jam with the finest European and Filipino artists and musicians on 30 May at 7:30 pm. at The Ruins in Poblacion, Makati during the most exciting “Euro-Pinoy Concert” to hit Manila.
In celebration of the Viva Europa 2018 and the European Year of Cultural heritage, Stefan Löwenstein and Michael Rattinger (Austria), Alex Alcaraz (Spain), Jeanette Kamphuis (Sweden) and Jean Paul Zialcita and Bhutta B from the Philippines will perform together for the first time in the “Euro-Pinoy Concert”.
European Union Ambassador Franz Jessen said that the EU Delegation is pleased to collaborate with the Embassies of Austria and Sweden, and Instituto Cervantes de Manila to present the “Euro-Pinoy Concert”.
“Through the concert, we want to bring the distinctive fusion of collaboration between and among European artists and musicians along with their Filipino counterparts”, said Ambassador Jessen.
“Music is the language of the soul and this concert tries to bridge the EU and the Philippines together”, Ambassador Jessen added.
 
PROFILES OF MUSICIANS
Stefan Löwenstein is an Austrian sound artist, music producer and percussionist from Vienna who develops music environments for events and brands with his company. He has produced music and sound effects for film features, websites, radio, apps and digital games. After studying multimedia and experimental electronic music at the University of Music and Applied Arts in Vienna, Stefan has worked on various projects such as creating the score for Austria’s Biennale Venice entry and developing his own interactive sound installations showcased at art festivals in Manchester and York in the UK, New York and Manila.

Michael Rattinger is a Manila-based, Austrian record digger interested in all types of percussion heavy, dubby, and soulful sounds. Since 2013, he is the co-organizer and DJ at Afro Beat Club, Manila’s only, and highly irregular, African and Afro-inspired dance music party.
Alex Alcaraz is a Flamenco guitarist who was born and raised in Granada, Spain. In 2012 he decided to move to the Philippines and since then he has been collaborating with Flamenco academies in Manila and some Filipino musicians.

Jeanette Kamphuis is a Swedish artist who can play jazz and violin music. She uses piano too for her compositions. She has been playing violin music since she was young. She was taught violin music by a Czech professor for 11 years. She is also a visual artist has appeared in television programmes for a major network in the Philippines. As her father had a jazz band, he has influenced Jeanette a lot with jazz music.

Jean Paul Zialcita is a Filipino percussionist who uses an exotic mix of upcycled found objects and local materials combined with elements of Filipino Martial Arts to reimagine the Philippines on the world stage in what he calls the “Age of ^CAN DO^.

Butta B has been a figure in Manila’s night life industry for 4 years now.  Her career began when she started promoting “Bad Decisions Wednesdays” in Black Market. She is known for serving up anything from old school hip hop and r&b to heavy bass, trap, house, funk, and dance music. Butta B’s fresh sound has landed her gigs both locally and internationally.
Also joining the fun, Michellan Sarile-Alagao will be rendering a Spoken Word Performance. Lomography Philippines will also be giving away a Lomo’Instant Camera during the event.
