The Italian Film Festival in Manila 2023 Returns To the Cinema This October

Over the past years, Italian Cinema in Manila has been a great success through film festivals, various events, and online screenings. This year, the Italian Film Festival in Manila delves deeper into Italian culture, life, and art and will run from October 21 – 24, 2023 at the Cineplex, Cinema 3 of Venice Grand Canal Mall in McKinley Hill, Taguig City.

The Italian Film Festival is organized by the Philippine-Italian Association under the auspices of the Embassy of Italy in the Philippines with the support of the Film Development Council of the Philippines, and in collaboration with Venice Grand Canal Mall, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, MINT College, and also student media organizations like The LaSallian.

The Italian Film Festival will feature six latest films that will take place at the Cineplex Cinema 3, Venice Grand Canal Mall at McKinley Hill, Taguig, from October 21 – 24, 2023; DIABOLIK where love and crime mix in a series of adventures by Antonio and Marco Manetti; LEONORA ADDIO by Paolo Taviani tells the daring adventure of the ashes of Pirandello and the bustling journey of the urn from Rome to Agrigento until the troubled burial, fifteen years from his death; IL COLIBRÌ by Francesca Archibugi is the story of the ancestral power of life, the story of strenuous fight we are all in to resist what sometimes seems unbearable; IL RITORNO DI CASANOVA by Gabriele Salvatores ponders the questions of what is more important, cinema or life? What is more essential, to keep playing your character, or to let yourself enjoy the surprises that life offers you? SETTEMBRE by Giulia Steigerwalt is a choral tale that explores human relationships, our deepest nature, and the search for a more authentic contact between people. DIABOLIK GINKO ALL’ATTACCO by Antonio Manetti and Marco Manetti continues the story of Diabolik, as the film follows his escape from Inspector Ginko’s latest trap.

During the opening night on October 21, 2023, there will be one film screening; On October 22 and 23, two films will be featured in the evening of each day (at 18:30 and 20:30); and lastly, October 24, 2023 shall feature one last film to close the Italian Film Festival.
