The Secretary General of the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA), His Excellency Ali bin Thalith has announced the launch of the new season of the popular ‘Instagram Photo Contest ’ which coincides with the launch of the seventh season of competition, ‘The Moment’. The contest is open for entry to all photographers on the Instagram social media platform, which will once again utilise the official HIPA hashtag. The contest has seen thousands of submissions since its launch in 2015 and has attracted photographers from all around the world.
His Excellency Ali bin Thalith said, “The launch of the new season of the ‘Instagram Photo Contest’ became imperative for HIPA due to the popularity of the competition and the large number of submissions over the past 2 years. The contest offers photographers a medium to submit their photographs and compare their works with other international photographers on the popular social media platform, Instagram. The simplicity of the photo contest has made it very attractive for budding photographers who see it as a window of opportunity for their photographs to be recognized internationally. This was definitely the case with some of our winners last season who took their photography to the next level after winning in the ‘Instagram Photo Contest’.”
Bin Thalith continued, “The themes for the new season of the ‘Instagram Photo Contest’ will this year challenge photographers to be more creative with their submissions and we are excited for the coming period of submissions. We have the utmost trust that our photography community will be up for the challenge and will submit some breathtaking submissions in this season’s contest. The themes for the new season of the contest have been chosen until April of 2018 to give photographers time to prepare for each month’s topic and hopefully afford them a better chance at winning.”
