DTI Kicks Off Biggest Coconut Trade Fair Yet Featuring 220 Exhibitors Nationwide

Manila, Philippines, August 29, 2025 – The Department of Trade and Industry, in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority and supported by the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan program, officially opened the 2025 COCONUT Philippines Trade Fair at Megatrade Hall, SM Megamall.

The event gathered exhibitors from different parts of the country to showcase one of the nation’s proudest industries. DTI and PCA aimed to entice more Filipinos to support the country’s coconut industry by exploring some of its best products yet. The trade fair ran from August 28 to September 2, 2025, and was everyone’s chance to experience the country’s top coconut offerings in person.

A Bigger and Better Showcase in Year Two

Now in its second year, the fair grew tremendously compared to its inaugural run in 2024. From a modest beginning, it expanded into a national showcase with 220 exhibitors representing Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The trade fair gathered farmer beneficiaries, micro, small, and medium enterprises, and innovators who presented everything from food and beverages to skincare, wellness, and lifestyle creations. This expansion reflected the growing momentum of the coconut industry and the increasing demand for value-added coconut products in the Philippines.

Launching the “Coconut Nation” Campaign

The trade fair also served as the official launch of COCONUT NATION, a broader campaign that will continue into 2026 with more initiatives to strengthen and modernize the industry. The aim was not only to sustain the coconut as a top global export but also to make it a product embraced by Filipino families at home.

Visitors were encouraged to see the wide variety of coconut and coconut-based products, meet local entrepreneurs, and support MSMEs and farming communities. By joining the fair, guests took part in a nationwide effort to create opportunities for coconut producers while discovering new and innovative ways the coconut can be enjoyed.

Supporting Farmers and Local Enterprises

“This fair shows that our coconut industry is more than raw materials. It is about proudly made finished products that compete in international markets and that should have a stronger place in the daily lives of Filipinos,” said DTI Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque.

Philippine Coconut Authority Administrator Dr. Dexter R. Buted focused on the agricultural foundation of the industry. “The strength of the coconut sector begins in the fields with our farmers,” he said. “Every product you see here carries the work and dedication of our farming communities, and this trade fair is a meaningful way to give them recognition and support.”

The public was invited to visit the 2025 Coconut Nation Trade Fair at Megatrade Hall, SM Megamall, from August 28 to September 2, 2025. For more details and updates, follow @dti.bmdpo on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to see what’s next in Coconut Nation.
