Celebrating Australia Now 2019

On 19 March, Australian Foreign Minister Hon Marise Payne launched Australia now ASEAN 2019 to celebrate Australian innovation and creativity across the 10 member nations of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). This reflects Australia’s special partnership with ASEAN member nations, raising opportunities to strengthen ties and build relationships for the future.
The 2019 program includes youth dialogues, food festivals, cultural and sporting events, and innovative technology forums to support collaboration and exchange.
There’s a great line up of events in the Philippines with a focus on engaging and connecting youth audiences
Some highlights in the Philippines include:
· Adam Liaw, TV host, cookbook author and MasterChef Australia Winner 2010, will visit Manila on 27 April to promote Australian contemporary cuisine.
· The Philippines-Australia Friendship Day will be celebrated in Cebu on 24 and 25 May.
· The inaugural ASEAN-Flickerfest Short Film Competition. The best entries will feature in the Flickerfest 2020 program and winners will be flown to Sydney for the Flickerfest awards ceremony, film industry networking and professional development.
