Run, swim, train at the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub
Shake away your lazy bones! This Christmas is all about embracing the sun, the air, and the water—things that have been shadowed for months because the long quarantine period. As restrictions ease, it’s time to take advantage of the revitalizing ambiance that Vermosa brings while challenging the mind and body through weekly workouts at the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub (AVSH).

The reopened AVSH is the first sports facility in the country to combine a FINA-standard Olympic size swimming pool, an IAAF standard 400m track oval, and a complete indoor training facility equipped with a sports science laboratory. Built to groom both enthusiasts and athletes, the facility partnered with the legendary Coach Hans Smit as its new Sports Director.

“My aim is to make AVSH one of the busiest sports facilities in the metro whole year round,” says Smit.

With the record of being the youngest football coach in the history of Philippine Football for teaching the sport at the early age of 21, Smit had made a name for himself over the 40 years he had been in the industry. He is also credited for starting the Varsity Football program in De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ) in Alabang wherein he trained numerous athletes under his wings. Currently the head coach of the DLSU Lady Booters football team, Smit continues to extend his expertise and share his knowledge with the South community at Vermosa.

“AVSH is the perfect location for training because of its quiet surroundings. This makes it the perfect place for athletes/teams for a more concentrated training place. It’s very private,” he mused.

Bike, stroll, and shop with the friendly community
Bubbling with life and activity, Vermosa is a convergence point for many leisure programs. Biking is one of them as Ayala Land’s Bike Smart program in Vermosa aims to nurture a cooperative community between pedestrians, vehicle owners, and cyclists by encouraging them to pedal responsibly while following road signs and markings. The Bike Trail is also launching this December featuring an 8km beginner’s trail perfect for newbies. For more experienced bikers, they can enjoy the road that stretches out in the entire estate. At the same time, services like bike repair stations and on-site crash response teams ensure safety throughout one’s visit in the area.

Meanwhile, families can enjoy a safe shopping and dining experience at the Vermosa Food and Lifestyle Market, which showcases gift ideas, goodies, trinkets and the best of local flavours. Open from 7:00am to 9:00pm, expect a wide array of Christmas offerings as this weekend strip includes around 60 food and retail merchants.

Vermosa is easily accessible from Makati, Manila, Muntinlupa and even Tagaytay with just less than an hour away thanks to a variety of road connections—Daang Hari Road, SLEX via the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX), CAVITEX, and CALAX Road. Schedule your visit this coming weekend and enjoy a holiday filled with active fun.
