The very bedrock of the existence of Expat Communications Inc. is Expat Newspaper. Since 1981, Expat Communications Inc. has been, and still is, the only voice of the international community in the Philippines.
To serve the great need of this market, which to maximize life in this country, Expat has been serving as THE local guide – paving the way for travel and lifestyle publications long before most local glossies began.
First there was What’s On In Manila – the first tourist and travel magazine in the country, followed by the weekly newspaper Expat Philippines. After several transformations, the two publications merged in 1995 and gave birth to the weekly small-format newspaper, What’s On & Expat, as well as the annual What’s On The Philippine Guide travel compendium.
While the newspaper has continued to be the regular local guide for foreigners, settling on the title Expat Newspaper along the way, Expat Communications decided to up the ante with Expat Travel & Lifestyle magazine.
Making its debut in 2007, Expat Travel & Lifestyle is a full-color glossy magazine published quarterly filled with informative articles and great reads on all things expat should now about the country – from where to go, what to do and where to eat, to everything else about the distinct Philippine beat.
