This Filipino artist’s debut solo exhibition blends bold art with a beautiful heart for giving back
I recently attended the opening of Art Peace, Wendy D. Rondaris’ (@wendyrondaris) debut solo exhibit at The Gallery Bar in Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, and let me tell you: what an uplifting vibe. If you’re into art that’s not just pretty but alive, then Wendy’s work is where it’s at. Her pieces practically hum with energy, and trust me, you’re gonna feel that when you step in.
Art that makes you feel something
Wendy’s an impressionist and expressionist artist from Quezon City, and her style is all about capturing emotion through bold, intense color. Think of the kind of art that makes you want to get closer and really see it. Her canvases are full of vibrant hues that practically jump out at you—it’s not the kind of art you just glance at and move on. It grabs you, makes you stop, and before you know it, you’re absorbed.
But it’s not all about the color. There’s a lot of religious imagery, nature elements like flowers and leaves, and some seriously cool brushwork that brings her pieces to life. It’s the kind of art that gives you this uplifting, almost spiritual feeling without getting heavy-handed about it. I can’t get enough of her watercolor of the Happy Feast of Our Lady of Częstochowa. It’s breathtaking. Honestly, if you only check out one piece, make it that one.
Wendy’s work is all about energy—there’s motion, there’s feeling in every brushstroke. It’s like her paintings are vibrating with life. If you’ve ever stood in front of a piece of art and just felt it, you know exactly what I mean.
It’s not just about the art—it’s about the heart
But here’s the thing: Wendy’s exhibit isn’t just about showcasing her talent—it’s also about giving back. 10% of the proceeds from the exhibit will be donated to Project PEARLS, a non-profit that helps children living in extreme poverty in the Philippines. Their mission is to provide Peace, Education, Aspiration, Respect, Love, and Smiles—PEARLS for short. So, when you buy a piece of Wendy’s art, you’re helping make a real impact in the lives of kids who need it most
Wendy explained it perfectly herself: “Art is not only a medium of self-expression, but a channel for empathy and impact.” This exhibition is her way of using her talent for something bigger than herself—and that’s something I can get behind. “Art Peace is my personal and artistic commitment to using creativity as a tool for social good. This exhibition is for everyone who believes in the quiet strength of peace and the transformative power of compassion.”
Supporting local talent, making a difference
A big shoutout to ARTablado, an initiative of Robinson’s Land, for making this exhibit happen. They’ve been supporting local Filipino artists by giving them the platform they deserve, and it’s wonderful to see them helping bring Wendy’s work to the public. Cookie Marquez, PR Manager for ARTablado, said, “Wendy’s work resonates with our core values—art that connects, empowers, and uplifts.” And honestly, that’s exactly what Wendy’s art does. It connects with you in a way that makes you think and feel something deep.
And it’s not just ARTablado supporting Wendy’s vision—Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria is backing this exhibit too. Their Cluster General Manager, Patria Puyat, pointed out, “Through partnerships like this, we aim to use our space and platform to create meaningful community impact.” It’s awesome to see both ARTablado and Crowne Plaza backing art that serves a bigger purpose.
The launch was also graced by Fernando Belen Sena—the Father of the Philippine Art Workshop. If you don’t know, this seasoned painter has been all about passing on his knowledge to the next generation of artists, for decades. Talk about dedication.
Why you need to check this out
If you’re in the area, don’t sleep on this exhibit. You’ve got enough time since it runs until January 2026, but trust me, you don’t want to wait too long. The Gallery Bar at Crowne Plaza is the perfect setting to take in Wendy’s work. Plus, the exhibit is completely free. Yup, free. So, whether you’re an art lover or just looking for something gratifying to do, go check it out
And let’s not forget that when you support the exhibit, you’re supporting a cause. A portion of every sale goes to Project PEARLS, so you can walk away with a striking piece of art and know that you’ve made a difference.
The final brushstroke
Art Peace by Wendy Rondaris goes beyond being just an exhibit—it makes a statement. The work is bold, emotional, and alive with color, and the cause behind it makes it all the more meaningful. If you’re looking for art that speaks to you in a way that’s both personal and purposeful, make sure you catch this exhibit before it ends in January. It’s worth it.
